From August 24, 2023, anyone using or handling diisocyanates and diisocyanate-containing mixtures and products must have completed safe use training. Medco DinHMS offers such training in some variants.
There are three different levels of training requirements, based on risk:
Gjelder dem som bruker eller håndterer produkter som inneholder diisocyanater og ledere til dem som bruker produkter med isocyanater. Eks. kun kortvarig arbeid med lite flyktige isocyanatprodukter (byggskum, tyktflytende lim e.l.).
Applies to those who use products with diisoscyanates for the application of substances with e.g. spraying, rolling, dripping, cleaning, work in open spaces, etc. (e.g. spraying in a paint booth or processing of uncured products).
Applies to those who use products with diisocyanates with higher risk work, e.g. at higher temperatures (casting, processing hot uncured products above 45°C, spraying in open air or outside a paint booth).
For basic level (level 1), Medco DinHMS in collaboration with FIDL, offers a game-based e-learning course with a follow-up webinar. At the webinar, an occupational hygienist will do a short repetition of some important points from the e-learning and there will be time to ask questions.
